Grand Council Treaty #3 enables the 28 member communities to discuss and decide on regional, federal and national priorities affecting First Nations health, and to provide a unified voice on health issues affecting its citizens.

 

Mandate - Health Law Record of Decision

The National Assembly hereby direct the Ogichidaa and Social Sustainability Chiefs to:

  1. To consult with the Communities of the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty #3 – Elders of the Nation, Regional Health Organizations, community health technicians and the treaty 3 health council to begin the process of developing a written health law that is consistent with traditional law and the spirit and intent of the Treaty signed October 3, 1873 at Northwest Angle
  2. To Obtain resources for this undertaking from all governments

First Nations Cancer Surveillance Project

The Health Council updates members on new reports and information from Cancer Care Ontario. The most recent initiative is the First Nations Cancer Surveillance Project – a collaborative initiative with Cancer Care Ontario.
